Civil Society Newsletter 1
Alright, Socially-conscious Civilians,
I know you all were disappointed about our lack of a meeting last week, but now that our break for Black Friday is over, we're back!
That's right, this week we'll be in Wooburn 008 at 7:00 PM discussing America's Role in World Affairs. We'll deal with questions like: Should the United States police the world or be non-interventionist? Do we have an obligation to impose human rights standards on other countries? And if we don't, will other countries (The Holy See) step up? This should be a fun discussion of international affairs with a lot of space for disagreement/debate.
Additionally, we'd like to congratulate our two new administrators Trixie Abbot, our new treasurer. And Joe Furfaro, our new debate director. Their terms won't start until next semester until we have them sworn in with Tyler's copy of War and Peace. But they'll be in charge soon, so you might want to ingratiate yourself to your new leaders.
Additionally, we know December is busy so in lieu of a traditional service event, this month we’re doing our first-ever Civil Society donation drive! Click this link to indicate which local Bloomington organization you want us to support. Once we’ve gathered everyone’s preferences, we'll share a link to a donation page. The goal is to raise at least $100 for our charity of choice, so please share the page with your friends and family! It was either this or having Tyler dress up as Santa to have children sit on his lap. So please donate so he doesn't have to gain 150 pounds.
Civically,
Colin Dombrowski
