Civil Society Newsletter 2

Published on

Hey there! If you're reading this it means that you're on the Civil Society newsletter! There are two ways this could have happened, either you signed up to receive our weekly updates, or you're my mom who I put on the list myself. (Hi mom!) Either way, if you want to stop receiving emails at any time you can respond with "I DISLIKE AMERICA" or "STOP", you'll be promptly removed, and we can avoid eye-contact in public.

But if you are here for politics, have we got a week for you! This Tuesday, January 28th at 7PM in Woodburn 002, we will be talking about Healthcare. Specifically, we want to know what you think; what should the US healthcare system look like?
With candidates like Bernie Sanders pushing for a single-payer system, and the recent failure of the Affordable Care Act, healthcare is at the forefront of the political conversation. This is a huge issue that affects millions of Americans. Democrats and Republicans both want a system that provides the care that citizens need, it's just an argument of how we can best facilitate that. This also intersects with issues like immigration, and how the US should handle illegal immigrants seeking care. So join us! Bring your opinions, your health-care horror stories, and if someone could bring a health-insurance card that I can borrow? I'd really appreciate it.

We want to hear what you think because dialogue is the only way to a better democracy!
Civically,

Colin Dombrowski
